Training Camp with the Cowboys...

Once again I am unable to add pictures to my post! What's up with that?? I was so excited about the photos I took at training camp this afternoon. I got several great shots of Tony Romo, Marion Barber, and San Antonio's own Sam Hurd! Michael Irvin actually showed up and I got a shot of him and Calvin Hill! It was great! If you are a Cowboy fan and living in San Antonio - you really need to get to the Alamodome and watch our boys at training camp. It was awesome! And we're going back on Sunday and next Friday as well...

GO COWBOYS - looking forward to seeing you in the new stadium and in the Superbowl this year!

VACATION

These last two weeks have been fun, fun, and more fun! First, we took a short trip to Houston to see my brother and sister-in-law and their family. That is what we love to do best! It's like going to a 5+Star Resort, with the benefit of having fabulous family time! Their house is the resort of all resorts! Great swimming pool, TV/Movie room upstairs, the best cooks in the country (John & Abby) and lots of sunshine and relaxation! Who could ask for more?

(I had some really cool pictures to add here, but I can't get this site to work! Imagine us in the pool enjoying a day in the sun, and John relaxing by the hot tub with a glass of tea in his hand, and a really cute pix of Gigi with Lauren and baby Derek...)

Then, my M&M girl friends and I took to the beach for a weekend trip. Actually, we enjoyed a trip our friend Stanton had won and we made it a girl's weekend at Port A. The condo was perfect, the beach was clean and not too hot and the girl time was the best ever! I almost hate for July to end - we had such a good time. But now it's just that much closer to November... and you all know what happens in November...

(Again, imagine the Condo at the beach and a group shot of us when we stopped at Sisters on the way to Port A, a shot of us in the pool...)

Do I smell RAIN?

Oh my gosh! I think I hear rain! I can't be... but oh, it is... ahhh, the wonderful sound of rain dripping off the roof. David and I sat at our kitchen table eating supper and watching it rain. Everything just looks better when it rains. We even heard a small bit of thunder. I love the rain and I love thunder. The louder, the better. God, could you please just bring us some more... we really need it - my yard needs it. But thanks for what we got - it was nice to remember how wonderful it is!

July 4th

Our neighborhood had a July 4th Parade! How cool is that? Ashton & Taylor came over on Friday and spent the night, so we were ready for the event on Saturday morning - July 4th. Did I tell you July 4th is my FAVORITE holiday? I love the fireworks and the hoop-la. I love the flags and celebration - and I love getting a new shirt to wear. Maybe it's because I feel like it's the official start of my birthday - just 4 days away! Hint, Hint, - that's July 8th for those of you who can't see where I'm going with this...

It was exciting when the big, red fire truck pulled up and all the kids got to take a look. It was even more exciting when they got a call and had to speed off to put out a fire at the Northern Hills Golf Course - where David was playing his Saturday morning game...

It was a small parade, but a parade nevertheless! See Taylor and Ashton riding their bikes? After we made it back to the pool we decided to spend the rest of our time in the water! At 105 degrees, it was much cooler in the pool than on the sidewalk.

The association provided some hot dogs and watermelon to those who came to the pool. It was really nice. 1st Annual Event - one I will participate in next year, for sure!

We didn't get to see the fireworks in person, but there was a great TV special from New York that was worth watching...

Hope everyone had a great 4th! I sure did - and I'll continue to celebrate at least until my birthday, or anniversary... just however long I can draw it out is fine with me!
