Happy New Year!

Tony, Casey, David, JoAnn and Mom raised our glasses to toast in 2009. This new year will come with lots of new beginnings.
Regardless of what "anyone" says - Mom and Casey are enjoying their new apartment. You can see how Mom is beginning to decorate the shelves and make it more like their home. The corner shelf is part of the wall unit they had in their home on San Dominique. We tried to bring as much of their furnishings as we could so the apartment would feel like their home.Mom received New Year wishes from Jean, Casey's sister who lives in Chicago. Mom is sitting in her favorite chair and is enjoying the evening.

Tony flew in late on the evening of 12/26. He is sorting and organizing the things that he will be taking back to California for his kids. Casey really enjoyed their time together.

Mom and Casey are getting settled in their new home and we all know it's the best move they have made. Mom enjoys the other residents and stays involved by attending the daily exercise groups and going to the TV area. Casey has enjoyed the courtyard and being outdoors when the weather is nice. Sterling House is less than 3 miles from our home which makes it easy to just drop by and have a cup of coffee. Their phone number didn't change, so if you get a chance, give Mom a call. If you're lucky you might catch her in the apartment - if she doesn't answer you'll know she is out making friends with the other residents!
